Lived on Graham's Road
Ship Master, arrived on PEI on December 18, 1848, aboard his vessel the Brothers, which he sailed out of Newfoundland. Other vessels of which Henry Sr was Master were the Elizabeth Ann and the Leo. Records indicate that many trips were made from PEI to the Miramachi, NB between the years of 1848 and 1862.
Some records indicate that the Squarebriggs family may have lived in Miramichi NB before settling on PEI. As well as operating their large mercantile business the family owned a farm on the Rattenbury
Road. This was later recorded in the name of John Squarebriggs.
Squarebriggs: Seafaring people who came to Stanley Bridge from England, had a farm, operated a store at Stanley which was later owned by Don Ross and J.McLeod, who was also an undertaker.
1841 Census records the following: Henry Squarebriggs has in his household -4 males under 16 yr. 1 male 16 to 45, 3 females under 16 yr, 1 female 16 to 45, 9 in all, belong to Church of Scotland.
1861 Census says Presbyterian, and that they had 50 Acres held by leasehold from the Proprietor, Samuel Cunard. They were occupants of the land being neither freeholder or tenents. Arrival at Stanley Bridge indicates that: 2 paid passage, 1 native of England, 1 native of Scotland, had 15A. of arable land.

1997: Earl Craswell MacKay has the model of the ship Henry Squarebriggs sailed on, coastal schooner, when he immigrated from England to Stanley Bridge, PEI in ____? The model was owned by grandson Daniel "Red Dog" McKay
