John and his family were responsible for the Squarebriggs farming
business on the Rattenbury Road. The 50A. farm was purchased by
Henry Squarebriggs Sr. on Nov. 20 1866, from William McKay and John
Sutherland. John and his wife purchased it from Henry and Catherine
Squarebriggs on Dec. 10 1869 for 31 pounds Sterling. After the land
became part of John's family, records state that "John and Agnes
Squarebriggs were now considered to be neither freeholder or tenant."
This family sold the property to the Ferridge family an moved to Red
House, Mass, near Boston.
