We used to practice on the top floor of the Fire Hall in the Passage. My amp was a Heathkit that I built in the back room. I also built the speaker cabinet. Gary started with us but then joined a band led by Sherod Crowell and his sister Lyne Crowell (https://nscmhf.ca/inductees/2007lynnecrowell.html). I had a "Silvertone" if i remember correctly. Gary had a Fender Mustang.

Career:
I left for the BIG CITY in September 1969 and never really returned.
At NSIT on Leeds Street in Halifax, I took Electronic Engineering Technology. A two year diploma program.
The summer of 1970 I worked at DREA as a summer student. I have no memory of it except that I shared an apartment with a classmate named Ed Bullerwell and Dave Ball (?). Likely this guy. https://www.facebook.com/edward.bullerwell/
After I graduated from BCIT in 1971 I went to work at DREA. I shared an apartment in Dartmouth until I got hitched to Shirley.
Story: example of a spectroscopy device specifically developed for “harm reduction”. It so happens it was developed by a former student of mine from Halifax who has an interesting connection to Barrington Passage.

2023-11-02 : (about Shirley “hissing” at Gary and traumatizing him) I guess he doesn't think about the fact that she left me for another man and also left me with an 8 year old son to care for on my own. At the time I was living in a one room dorm on campus.
