Gary Blades writes: Arthur Blades is on the left. The boy is his brother John. Art joined the Army and was sent to Europe to fight in WW II. The other man is his brother Walter, my father.

Michael Blades says: notice that the shoulder patch as RCEME on it.  That is the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.  They look solemn.
