Gertrude worked with her son operating a tourist attraction Bed & Breakfast. She was aleader in the community, ever ready to organize a concert and, if they were short on material, she would write a skit or song. She operated Green Gables Tea Room at Cavendish and was a teacher’s aid in Park Corner.
