At the VG Hospital "Transition" unit we saw abuse, neglect, dirty lockers, people treated badly. My mom was living in a dump. We now have 9 members: 1 nurse, 1 CCA. resident in Long Term Care, etc. They are contacting us in order to diversify - they are two str8 white guys; they can't make assumptions about the 2SLGBTQ community. What are your top projects? * International standard of 4.1 hours of care per day; Nova Scotia is only part way there * And a list of 21 things * And everything else Dan's points * I Was involved with the CCA program 20 years ago * Story of Hugo > _Gen Silent_ > concern * Creation of Elderberries out of NSRAP * Would like to see an anti-bigotry module in the CCA * Need to deal with fear of homophobia and enabling reporting of it, in our own population. Dan's Q's * what about the big picture: more beds, more affordable, offload hospital beds & staff, offloads emergency rooms Future ideas * [ ] Geographic disparities, e.g. maybe there's no trans/homophobia in Halifax, but maybe it happens and goes unreported in Sydney, Amherst, Yarmouth. * [ ] Idea of a report card.
