Re: ACNS Halifax Pride application to the New Horizons for Seniors Program

Dear Selection Committee,

On behalf of the Elderberries, I am pleased to offer this letter of support for the ACNS's application to the TD Proud of our Pride Program.

The Elderberries is a social, educational and outreach group for LGBT Nova Scotians aged 50 and older. Monthly social events are held at a variety of venues including theatre outings, educational and social events. All events are led by members of the elder community and focus on remaining accessible for all, both financially and physically. We frequently are asked to speak to youth and members about personal experiences of being old and queer.

The Elderberries support ACNS' application to this program with the working title, "Looking Back / Looking Forward" and will work with ACNS to execute the project outlined in their application. We are committed to ensuring that members of the elder community are centred in the project’s visioning and implementation.

ACNS has a long history of successfully implementing projects large and small.

The Elderberries are excited to partner with ACNS and hope they are successful in receiving the funding for this project.
