Sourdough Scones (Joel's)

Do not feed the sourdough starter first

Ingredients

2¼ cflour
1 tblbaking powder
1 tspbaking soda
¼ csugar
½ tspsalt
¾ cbutter
½ cbuttermilk
½ csourdough starter
1egg

Bust Out

large mixing bowl
biscuit cutter
cookie sheet

Steps

  1. Pre heat oven to 375 degrees F
  2. In a large mixing bowl sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt
  3. Cut butter into the flour mix
  4. Whisk buttermilk, sourdough starter & egg together
  5. Add liquids to dry ingredients, mix but do not overmix
  6. Knead and pat to ¾ inch thick
  7. Cut with biscuit cutter
  8. Bake 15-20 minutes on cookie sheet (I don’t grease the sheet)
  9. Makes 12 scones
