Taiglach

This is a great early Internet story: in the mid 1980s, I was working for Faye & Lorne Rozovsky, and knowing that I liked to cook, Lorne told me about a treat that his "Bubba" used to make - he just described it as a sweet ball, made of smaller balls.

I was a frequent contributor to the LGBT newsgroup "soc.motss" and I knew there were a lot of Jewish people there and so for fun, I posted that very rough description - mostly sharing exasperation - there.

A few hours later, Mara Chibnik, on Manhattan, sent me the name of the treat, and I rode my bike down to Doull's Books and picked up a copy of the cookbook, bought the nuts on the way home, made it, and the next morning took it to the Rozovsky's. Lorne said, "Wow, just like Bubba used to make!"
