Beef_Stroganoff_(single_burner)_01.jpg

Camping Beef Stroganoff over a single burner. You need a frying pan that can sit on top of the pot that you boil the noodles in like a double boiler.

  1. Cut beef into strips about the size of your little finger.
  2. Dredge it in flour & pepper and fry in lots of butter until browned. set aside but keep the butter in the fryng pan.
  3. Cook onion, mushrooms & garlic, add paprika, more pepper & salt. add to beef.
  4. Deglaze frying pan with wine & reduce.
  5. Add the beef & vegetables; sauce will thicken, leave in the frying pan.
  6. You're going to make a stack: the pot boiling the noodles on the bottom; the steam from that keeping the sauce warm; and a lid over the sauce.
  7. When the salted noodle water is boiling, add the egg noodles AND add sour cream to the frying pan; do not stir so when you spoon it out, it's varigated; put the top lid back on.
  8. The noodles will cook in about 10 minutes.
  9. Spoon sauce out onto a bed of noodles.
