Solaris How To: Editing 2026-04 mercury upgrade

2026-04-03 : * Upgrade mercury Debian 11 (bullseye) to 12 (bookworm) * then from 12 to 13 (trixie) Did not come back up: * dovecot * fail2ban Perl version upgraded so had to upgrade ALL of the packages... this took a couple hours: * cpanm install ... ** CPAN::DistnameInfo ** CPAN::Meta::Prereqs ** DateTime ** --force RRD::Simple * find / -name CPAN -ls ** delete old CPANs fail2ban * rm filter.d/ignorecommands/apache-fakegooglebot filter.d/apache-fakegooglebot.conf and its reference in jails.local * set jails.local vsftpd to false postfix & dovecot * it was a mistake to keep the old config files. I should have installed the new config files and set up a fresh configuration
