Notes for Lester "L.D." Dyer Chessman
Lawyer, native of Newoundland. Was on his way to Newfoundland, and
plane was grounded at Sydney, NS where he died. His son came and
they returned to Vancouver Island where their home was. Edith said
there was no mourning, as with their religion, you came back in a
different form. MKM: Don't swat a fly, eh?

They seemed to be quite well off financially - sending so many
pictures of homes &c. Grandfather was always praying that Edith
would come back to see him before he died -- grandmother mortgaged
the farm and took a trip out once. The Worlds Fair was in Seattle.

Later, Grandfather Harding had to pay off the mortgage. Now, the
"Radicals" who live in the old homestead in Springbrook claim they
see a tall woman with black hair at night -- she must be back.
