The home includes a major array of 8 SE facing windows, each more than 3 m high and leaning at an angle of about 15 degrees to vertical. These passively heat a greenhouse, from which heat can be spilled into the main body of the house by opening a window. Automatic vent openers also spill warm air into the house, and a fan can be used to circulate the warm air through a pipe in a thick cement block in the floor for overnight heat storage. By this means we comletely heat the well-insulated house using passive solar throughtout the daylight hours in winter.
