When, one year after election, your party has not only failed to reduce government's budget, but has increased it by two-digit percent, will the reason be:
aging of the population - totally unexpected
inflation! Where did that come from?
unionized workers' contract pay increases actually have to be fulfilled.
projections of double-digit percent growth of the economy (and resulting tax revenue) didn't happen!
the previous government left things so messed up we couldn't fix them in one term. give us another term please (we promise to use a different excuse after that.)
With Health budget:
The nurses negotiated 5% per year for the next 5 years??? We have to pay that???
The population is aging and retiring? WE HAD NO IDEA that could happen!
Health care costs increase with that aging population? We were broadsided by that one!
Modern treatments and machines cost more and more money, so we can't afford them. What? People expect modern health care? That's gonna blow the budget.
