=Elderberries 2021-07-15 Meeting= At: Smitty's, Cathedral Lane / Spring Garden Rd Present: Dan (notes), Barend, Lynn, Anita, Kevin Regrets: Pauline ==Youth & Elders Storytelling Salon== The Salon will be on August 15, 4-6pm in a tent on the Wanderer's Grounds. Plz note that we should be away from loud music. We will have both youth and elders telling stories. Dan has been working with Sara and Courtney Connor (she/her) of MacPhee Center which has a strong Q youth support function. Sara has reported back that the youth - I think they use the term GSA - have concerns about safety. What we'll do: we'll ask Sara & Courtney to ask the youth, what it would take to make you feel safe at this event? If you can name it, we will do it if we can. E.g. “active listener” present. ==March== Pride is holding a real March March this year = not a parade.  We will participate in this March rather than running our own. ==Other== Finances: we have $1413.10 in the bank. Donation: we will donate $200 to some organization. We can give them cash or a cheque. We'll ask the members to vote on which organization gets a donation (without telling them the amount.) Candidate organizations: * Youth Project * MacPhee Centre * Rainbow Refugees * Is there a trans organization? If there is we'll list it too. DAN will ask Stephanie if there’s any worthy trans organization. LYNN will write a call for a women’s Zoom coordinator and DAN will set up the mailing list so she can send it out. Topics for Salons: it would be great to get speakers. DAN will send the list of topics to the Board. Musquodoboit Pride: Augst 28. 29 - we could take people out. Maybe we can do a van or car pool or something.We approved a $50.00 donation (by cheque) to help Musquoduboit Pride. We would all like to go back to Northwood in the fall. BAREND  will contact Allison about: * Northwood Flag Raising and * returning Meeting was adjourned when our waiter kicked us out at closing time.
