Format: * Food as usual * Presentation of Slate of Board * Election of new Board * (theoretical closing of meeting and restarting with the new Board) * Some creative discussion & voting on topics for next year Actions * ANITA & BAREND will send out a last notice ===Summer Event=== SALT: Same As Last Time * On our regular August day: August 12, 2:00pm * Point Pleasant Parking Lot, East corner * Pro tip: Don't set fire to the tablecloth with the BBQ this time (which also destroyed the surface of the table it was on.) ===Health Conference in October=== NSRAP will be funding this. A report, written by Dan will come out of it. Format etc. to be determined. Scott pointed out: * that is is not practical to ask people to discuss their healthcare needs publically and that we need to design some kind of anonymous input here. * that it would be useful to have a doctor and nurse there to answer actual medical questions. ===July 22nd "Salon" Event=== Planning document for the event has been moved to here: http://bonmot.ca/Elderberries/library/2018-07-22_Salon The owner of Plan B offered the space for free; we have $400 budgeted and offered him $300. He seems delighted. Food: everybody seems to like the "Frozen Hors d'oeuvres" idea. There is an oven in the Plan B Kitchen. Bar & Liquor License * Discussion. Consensus: No, let's not do liquor. ** it's a lot of work; there are possible problems; and Elderberries was formed to get *away* from liquor. Do we want to make this a "Safe Space" ?? Laura had some well thought out ideas about this: it is a public space with people talking. We really cannot make this a "Safe Space." We could make it a "Brave Space." Chris's History Panel display: He says it's unavailable. We could * as Anita suggests, somewhat recreate it from her photos, or * make up something different, or * just go without. We should specifically invite HAGS: the Halifax Book Club. Plan B Proprietor Reverend Bob dropped in to hear our plans for the Salon and give his thoughts for how he could prepare the space for us. Action items: * BOARDMEMBERS will invite possible speakers * DAN will ask for volunteers.
