Editing 2016-01-14 Meeting

Present: Lynn, Dan (interim chair & notes) & Hugo (by phone) We now have three empty Board positions - Chair and two others. We need to fill the finance / fundraising / treasurer position. Lynn was doing chair, and newsletter, and programs, which is untenable. Hugo and Dan and Anita can ''probably'' continue with the newsletter. FYI: we have three trans women, which is wonderful in such a small organization. ===Newsletter Supplement Topic=== The sentencing hearing of André Denny will be coming up on the 25th and 26 of January. This will be stressful for everyone in our community. Hugo is writing an open letter to the Dept of Health and provincial government. We can use this in Wayves or in our newsletter - or both. For example we could have an intro paragraph and a link to the Wayves article. ===Finances=== Re: Patricia and strong feelings on monetary contributions for the Elderberries. Patricia really feels that we should be collecting money - regularly or ir, so that the Elderberries has some resources to do even modest things. For example, we have loaned Anita $100 last year which we have no ability to repay. Discussion: * Hugo got an account in the name of his theatre company with the TD on Spring Garden without an RJSC. * DAN will call the Credit Union and ask if we can get an account in advance of being registered. * There is a $10,000 grant that can be used to support the Elderberries. * HUGO will advance this a bit with NSRAP. ===More Boardmembers=== We have a new guy, Robert Green, who might be on the Activities Committee. DAN will write a note to the membership encouraging new boardmembers. We can also send out notes to tell people about our committee meetings and boardmeetings. ===Program=== ; February : HUGO will ask Robin if he could do his Pink Triangle lecture on Sunday, February 14th. If he says yes - we will invite the Youth Project, and everyone, to the event. ; March : DAN will arrange someone to talk about suicide Future: * DAN will ask Vance if he can do his Plato lecture ready for some time in the future.
