* Notes of Elderberries meeting, 2011-11-28. * Location: Chez Lynn * Present: Lynn, Anita, Norval, Gary Brooks, Dan (notes) The meeting came to order at 7:15. Approval of the Agenda - yes Approval of the Minutes: they were circulated, amended, and approved shortly after the last meeting. Happy Birthday Anita! Cake was distributed. Mini discussion of resurrecting the archives project -- if only to facilitate transport of material into the NSARM for people who can't or won't under their own steam. LYNN will contact members of the dormant Atlantic History & Archives Network. Cookbook feedback: * Everybody comments on it * People are interested in it * People love the cover. Discussion of putting the cookbook online: Dan now says, "I don't see any value in it" Gary: enjoyed the process of working on the cookbook a lot If we did a 2013 issue, would it be better to have a focus on a particular type of recipes? e.g. desserts or breads? Dan: "As far as I'm concerned, there's not reason not to do the cookbook again." NSRAP has an office in Veith House. Should we have events there? * Parking is a bit more of a PITA * Kitchen is downstairs * However Safe Harbour did it every week with success and * it would be nice to use the space now that NSRAP has it. ===Programs=== ; December Event : Dec. 18th: NSRAP cocktail party at The Company House. Bring Your Own Finger Food. Ideas from the survey: * movie night * native two spirit seniors * Dan suggests re-running last January * visit to Northwood * religion * Marriage round table * trans elders: we say we are an lgbt organization, but do we have any members? DAN will ask Denise: would you like to come to Elderberries and tell some old stories? ; January: Movie Night : Preferred: ''Auntie Mame (1958)'' : LYNN will investigate public performance rights : DAN will download a copy for backup : DAN will NOT ask Wayne about a Broadway sing-a-long at St Matthews ; February : Possible native thing : Bob / Gabe / Tuma / ddelegate : DAN will ask Tuma and Gabe for ideas : DAN will check in with Bob about doing this. ; March : A trans thing? ; April : A religion thing? (Easter is April 8) ; May : It's May, it's May, the lusty month of May: The Sexy LGBT Senior Citizen ; November : old war song sing-a-long at St Matthews ===Other Business=== Gary's been asked to join the Ethics and Policy Committees of Ocean View Manor. Lynn: Hugo was working on a module for LGBT seniors for Northwood. Gerard Veldhoven and Lynn worked with Northwood and Hugo. Judy Amar was the leader of this at Northwood. Meeting was adjourned at 9:30.
