Minutes, 1 November Meeting Present: Hugo, Dan (notes), Lynn (Chair), Nick, Anita Meeting came to order at 7:15 Approval of the September and October minutes: Moved by Dan, seconded by Nick. ==Upcoming Events== ===November Field Trip=== Robin has volunteered a guided tour of the Kent Monkman on November 16. ACTION: Lynn will include the art show tour information in her next mailout. ===November Event=== Meeting IV Business * Vote on name of organization * Call for volunteers for December event * Discussion of who can perform at January event * Notice of Long Term Care meeting Does not require any food planning except for coffee. We should bring our own coffee to SpencerHouse. ANITA will bring tea and coffee. LYNN will bring the milk and sugar. ===December Field Trip=== Long Term Care Meeting: Sunday Afternoon, December 5th 2:00pm - 5:00pm, Company House. ===December 10th Event=== Meeting V Invitation should: * remind you to bring a designated driver or taxi fare. * give Nick and Tuma's names so guests can call from the front door From 7:00 to 7:30 we'll have someone at the door. DAN will bring some modest music arrangements. NICK will arrange for the plates and chairs. Tea and coffee deal: ANITA and LYNN same November. ===January Event=== Meeting VI Should we try to coordinate the musical acts? NICK will contact Andrea Currie: possibly might be in town that weekend. Can someone ask Patricia Martinson to read a poem at this event? ===February Event=== Meeting VII Action: DAN will arrange something so that we can put pictures up on a screen. Hugo suggested that we scan the photos as they come in. ==Business== Letters to previous Over 30s members: these have gone out - about 35 of them. Probably about ten will be returned "address unknown" and the rest have been notified of the upcoming events, and that that is the last use of the Over Thirties mailing list. ===Name of Organization=== * Y.O.R.E. * Elderberries * S.A.L.T. Names will be presented to the general membership in November, and they'll be invited to suggest more, and vote. ===Welcoming Churches=== This mini project is put off until some time in the future. Suggestions: First Baptist, Bedford United, St John's United, Quakers, Unitarians ===Funding For Social Committee Activities=== Possible Incomes * Block of cash from NSRAP * Fundraising dinners for rich people * Annual fee * Donation jar at each meeting Expenses: * Tea and Coffee: $10 or so per event * Sign Language Interpreter: $250 per event * Venue is free. We will hold off on the whole financial consideration for a couple of months. ===Adjournment=== Next meeting: January 3, 7:00pm at Anita's. The meeting was adjourned at 9:30
