Hey folks,
I wanted to make sure you are aware of the Age-Friendly Communities Grant opportunity. If Elderberries has not considered applying, it would be a great chance to receive some funding to support an initiative you might have.
Also, I would love to meet with you to discuss opportunities to implement a positive spaces program in some of our muchly in need Nova Scotian nursing homes and continuing care facilities if you are interested. I believe Lynn was in touch with Lezlie Lee Kam when she was in town for Pride. Lezlie had really inspired me with the work being done in Ontario to make safer spaces for LGBTIQ+ elders. I would love to discuss what Elderberries and NSRAP see as the next steps in supporting our aging LGBTIQ+ population here in Nova Scotia. Perhaps there are opportunities to partner on an initiative.
All the best. Maddi MacDonald Co-Chair, LGBTI Network
