1. Facts

Elderberries will clearly be the sponsor and producer of this event. We need to make it clear that it is NOT a Halifax Pride event.

• Date: 2020-07-18 Rain Or Shine
• Time: TBA: noon?
• Route: Halifax Central Library, up Spring Garden Rd, R on South Park, into the Garrison Grounds. The slower moving folks will lead the March (This will keep us together. No stragglers. Slower but effective.)
• Spokesperson: Lynn (we hope)
• Honorary Marshall: TBA
• Theme: The original 1987/88/89 Pride March / Protest
• We will have to follow the safe outdoor activity guidelines in place at the time

2. Demands

1. LGBT Seniors Housing. Why? For example, Trans folk are not safe; also, LGBT housing is a health issue.
2. Cultural competency certification for healthcare workers.
3. Something about trans folk

3. Things we need to talk about

• What time does it start (Dan recommends earlier - like, noon, so we can take in the Pride event on the Garrison Grounds after.)
• how we promote this event
• do we invite the media
• who do we invite
• what is our limit on number of people?
• what happens if more than that show up?

4. To Do

Week Before

• Invite Jacqui Gahagan to participate
• BAREND buys masks
• DAN orders banner
• Identify washrooms (start: Library; end: Garrison Grounds)
• MIKE will invite Doug (probably Lapierre)
• DAN will draft media talking points
• Pick a time & place for sign / poster making and send out invitations.
