Halifax Pride Week Event Discussion

Hugo:

• Get our own copy of Gen Silent
• Take the film on the road
• Create a provincial group of Elders activists

Q: Could we have a booth at the Pride Event? A: Absolutely - for dozens, not hundreds, of dollars.

Allison:

• Elders reception with food, celebrating
• Pictures of ourselves in our youth
• Speaker's Corner Video Booth
• Living Library
• Coffee House
• Drama?
  • "Diversions & Delights"
  • Literary Salon -
• ... spend money on a coordinator for this activity?
• ... Elder's Salon in the Library, with food and photo albums
• Promotion of Elderberries: poster? Outreach to nursing homes?
• Possible performance piece where we tell our stories
• Reverse the role: as if the young person was in a nursing home and the elderberry was visiting them.
• Get a list of what the youth would like to know about being old
• Submit cards with questions on them.
