Meeting convened at Just Us on Spring Garden Rd, 2:00 with Girl Guide Cookies, amaretto etc.

Present: Lynn, Anita, Allison, Dan (notes.)

Agenda Topic: Financial matters

1. Review of bank account and any outstanding debts or bills (including Staples receipt for Anita - Anita please bring cheques)
2. Review of finance requirements as provided by Registry of Joint Stocks
3. Appointment of Treasurer
4. Planning for preparation of Annual Financial Statement
5. Setting date for AGM. Must be held by March 31. Notice to the membership must go out at least 30 days in advance.
6. Proposal(s) for raising money from general membership
7. Business cards : report from Anita
8. Discuss April program
9. Lynn: boardmember or not

• November 2016: $612.50
• Brochures, reimbursement to Dan: $152.95 + $111.55
• Membership forms, reimbursement to Anita: $97.19
• Deposit: $110 from the December event
• As of today: $286.84

198 Email Addresses, 228 names in our database, 197 Facebook members — probably some overlap

Modifications to the MoA

Physical year = last day of December

Discussion: Definition of Membership Requirements of “50+ And Friends”

CHANGE: “aged 50 +, our families, friends, and allies.” to “aged 50+ AND our framilies, friends, and allies."

CHANGE Section 14, date of AGM, from “within three months” to “within 4 months” so that we can have our AGM in April.

CHANGE Section 6e to CANADA.

CHANGE Section 23, The number of directors shall be no more than eight (not less than five.)

Section 16: Quorum at the AGM is *seven* members.

Section 33: Quorum Shall Consist of *half* of the directors.

Our mailbox: can be Dan’s or anyone else’s.

Appointment of Treasurer: Anita

Annual Financial Statement: Dan & Anita will do this

Setting a date for the AGM: 9 of April, 2017

New Boardmember: Scott MacNeil: Scott has offered. DAN will check with him and add him if he’s still amenable. He is. DAN has added him to the Membership and to the Board.

Raising Money

It would be nice to get money from the rest of the members.

We should write a note to the members asking for $5, $10, or $20 donation, "Or come to a meeting and drop a loonie into the donation box."

DAN will create an online donation box.

Lynn Membership On Board

Lynn is willing to continue as a boardmember until the AGM; she is planning to not run at that point.
