January 23, 2024 “Queering age-friendly Nova Scotia : strengthening inclusive and equitable communities for 2SLGBTQ+ older adults.” Dr Austin Oswald. Note : this older request for a letter of support is listed because Elderberries involvement continued with a request for an Elderberry to join a board in late 2024 (see below), and a Speakers Bureau visit to Dr Oswald’s class January 2025.
June, 2024 Nova Scotia Department of Justice : Office of Equity and Anti-Racism. Survey; plus four restaurant focus groups and one Zoom held in August 2024 Moderated by Renee. May have been part of the Nova Scotia Action Plan.
October 25/26 2024 Atlantic Canadian Queer/Trans Archives and History Virtual Symposium aka Symposium of Queer Atlantic Archives. Attended by several Elderberries.
November 27, 2024 “Halifax historical places 1960s and 70s” – Elderberries discussion and High Tea, – attendance c.15; outreach letter to Cape Breton 2SLGBTQ group; report. Defining Moments Canada “Proud to be” project.
December, 2024 “Health of 2SLGBTQIA+ Nova Scotians.” Grant through Research Nova Scotia to Austin Oswald at Dalhousie, who requested that an Elderberries member go on the Board of the Community Advisory Committee. Dan applied to do so, but has not heard back as of late May 2025. (see also January 2024)
March 25 ArQuives Community Ties support session, as requested by ArQuives in February. Chaired by Dan, attended by Robin, Lynn and Jackie.
March 31, 2025 Seniors safety focus group. Canadian Centre for Safer Communities. Event held at Halifax Central Library.
April 13, 2025 “From marginalized to visible : queer archives and public memory.” Jackie Gahagan requests letter of support to SSHRC re 2026 conference. Written.
April 2025 “Documenting diversity in 2SLGBTQ+ experiences.” Elizabeth Fitting requests Wayves letter of support to SSHRC for event to be heldin October 2025. Dan passed on request to Elderberries. ??
