1) Separating the Anita Archives funds from that of the Elderberries'.
2) Can we find a more suitable bank than TD Bank?Which would really be better? 3) Getting Barend (Chair) and Kaitlin (Treasurer) registered as signatories to be able to make deposits at a TD Bank ATM. Shall we destroy Anita's TD Bank cheques?
Are they signed?
Conclusion: Action delayed. We don't have enough information to proceed. Presently Dan MacKay (who receives our account's printed statements in the mail) is very busy finishing off Elections Canada responsibilities.
A short film by Areena who interviewed Anita, will be airing soon at the Bus Stop Theatre May 30th, along with other short films. How can we separate the Anita archival funds raised now in our Elderberries TD Bank account?
Action Delayed. We don't have enough information to make a decision.
Dan had said he'd deal with that. Philip had provided us with a template to use as a letter of support to pitch his concept for funding.
Conclusion: We'll let Dan handle this enquiry so we can then decide any steps to take (or not.)
Ref. Nathan 1) Queer representation in NS schools curriculum. 2) Youth Project involvement in the Elderberries Pride participation. 2) Speakers Training Salon Sunday June 22nd using Toastmaster strategies to handle fear. 3) What best practices should we employ at speaking events for best outcomes? 4) A request from Hayden Feltham for us to supply facilitators for youth workshops
Result: Nathan has spoken with Carmel (our GSA contact) as a follow up after our April 12th GSA Q & A event. She was pleased with our participation. We decided that we must always declare up front that our recollections may be triggering for some to hear; but, we shouldn't candy coat it or erase the truth. Venues should be scouted out ahead of time to identify potential problems or features:- mobility issues, poor signage and ease of access etc. Nathan will also work out with Carmel what we can do with the Youth Project for Halifax Pride. Nathan will connect with Hayden Feltham ie. a zoom call on Saturday May 9th.
Kaitlin is hoping to have a fun Board Games salon on June 8th at The Board Room on Barrington or at the Northwood Centre. June 22nd We plan to have Heather Perkins from Toastmasters International give a presentation about overcoming fear not about giving speeches per say. So even non speakers would be interested in attending.
Our application for an Elders Hangout is in. We are booked for a date and spot on July 21rst, a Monday 4 PM to 6 PM. We hope to have a tent on the Garrison Grounds, a slab cake, a loop slideshow of our community's history, with tables and chairs and non alcoholic drinks. The maximum grant possible is $1,000.00.
