Upcoming Events

• May 14: 1) Roundtable storytelling about moms 2) short talk about Lunenburg Pride.
  • KEVIN will arrange that with the chair
• July: no one knows what's going on with Halifax Pride this year.
  • July 9: TRIP TO BRIDGEWATER!! For Lunenburg Pride!! We will organize carpooling.
  • July 23rd: During the Halifax Pride Festival, July 20-30 Barend will ask Andrew Pelrine of Halifax Gay Men's Chorus about presenting how the Drag community is addressing the anti drag backlash.
• August 13: Picnic in Point Pleasant Park
• We'll plan more salons at a future meeting

Reimbursement for Speaker's Bureau Trip

Motion to repay Dan & Paul for transport to King's Central Rural High School on April 26th. Discussion: Stephanie says the government rate is 51¢/km. The trip to King's Central was 109km • 2 ways • $0.51 = $111.18. Motion passed.

STEPHANIE will cut a cheque to Dan for this amount

Wayne asked that Eastern Shore Pride in August be announced in our neswsletter. Barend said he'd do that.

Speaker's Bureau

Speaker's Bureau hasn't been doing much - we wait for people to contact us. It would be very nice if we were more active in this. Lynn suggested that we have a mini conference to get people revitalized. Lynn, Anita and Barend will meet to organise a Speakers Bureau conference. They encourage Board members to offer suggestions for such a meeting.

Sharing some of the work for the events

We're wasting a lot of time figuring out who does what each month. It would be nice if people volunteered for some period, e.g. a year.

• Barend said he'd ask the general membership if any of them would like to be the permanent coordinator for our Second Sunday Salons.

People who volunteer will be responsible for finding someone to do it if they can't

• WAYNE volunteers as greeter
• KEVIN volunteers as backup coffee / tea
• BAREND volunteers as regular emcee
• DAN volunteers as knife, fork, spoon, plate, cup, napkin

Reappointing Anita to the board

Dan moved that Anita be reappointed to the board. Barend seconded. No discussion. Motion passed.

DAN will re-add Anita to the Board mailing list.
