Dan -- NSRAP Meeting

This afternoon, Dan had a meeting with aubriemcg@gmail.com Aubrie McGibbon (they/them) about our relationship with NSRAP

Meeting

At: Dan's Dining Room Table

Present: Dan (notes) Barend, Mike, Stephanie, Kevin

Stephanie: NSRAP: had a couple zoom meetings, were trying to make board decisions.

They used to have 15 boardmembers, and made money. When Susan took over, everyone scattered, adn the money went down.

Susan is trying to recruit boardmembers.

At one meeting they forgot the land acknowledgement and someone quit in a huff.

Stephanie signed up for being Treasurer, and looked at how much work there’ll be involved - and how much spare time she has, and decided not to.

Pride

DAN will find out out if Pride is doing the Youth Salon or not

DAN will find out if Pride is making a space for us in the Parade

Future Salons

Problem: people “Hogging the stick” at meetings: there’s no easy way to do it. We could designate someone to be the “timekeeper” for each meeting.

Outdoor events: Stephanie will organize some outdoor events this summer.

March program: Pancakes: Favourite recipe or experience.

Event idea: one for people who haven’t been to an Elderberries event before.

BAREND will contact Lynn and ask if she wants to contact Lynette Richards.

Project: Time Capsule

1) Second Sunday Salon: Bring your time capsule items, tell a story about it.

2) A tres Theatrical "Anointing and Dedication Ceremony" to Bless our sacred Time Capsule for its journey into the future. (Actual burial will be done "discreetly" later, elsewhere.)

Physical Venues

  1. What are *you* passionate about (quilting, making podcasts, animal rescue etc.?)
  2. Would you be keen to join a Zoom meeting/ live Salon about your special interest?
  3. Would you want to make a presentation on your passion?
  4. What noteworthy items would you like to see preserved in our Elderberries Time Capsule?
  5. What "must have" goodies should we put in our Newcomer Gift Bags? E.g. Stuff you would really like.)
