Board meeting at the Glitter Bean, 2:00pm

Present: Lynn, Anita, Allison, Barend, Mike, Dan (notes, chair), Richard.

Youth Project

• Agreed that We don't need to beat up the YP
• No really great ideas for "how can we help"
• Q: If they continue to own the house, is there a room on the ground floor that might be suitable for an Elderberries HQ? A: No - probably not. And, there was a lot of talk about getting an accessible house.
• If you have any ideas about how we can help, forward to Dan.

Event Name Change to "Salon"

• What are the differences between the old format and the new format? ** Name change to Second Sunday Salon
  • Ramps down the importance of food
• ALLISON will forward the refreshed text to Dan & Barend

Speaker's Bureau

• Refresh list by asking people if they're still available? Yes. "Please write back one way or another if you're interested in being a speaker."
• ALLISON will organize a meeting of the Speaker's Bureau
• LYNN will contact Carolyn Gesner to see if she'd like to be a speaker
• We should contact some schools that we talked to in the past and ask when they'll have us back.

Pride

• Dan is on the Pride Elders Committee right now
• Dan would like others to be on it too.
• Lead is Patrick who also is doing Health & Wellness.

December Salon

• Theme: Christmas Social
• Tea, Light Refreshments
• Dan will bring powered speakers
• ANITA will ask Patricia to read the half of A Child's Christmas in Wales (full thing is 20 minutes which is too long for our members.)
• White Elephant Gift Exchange. Regifting made fun! Bring something you have around the house that you don't want. We'll give out the rules at the event.
