Meeting came to order at 2:15.
Date for November Event: We will stick with November 11.
Motion by Alison: We should send a letter out to the membership saying we’ve received your comments, and it indicates that people would like to do things a little less structured.
ALISON would like to draft a letter saying we’ve looked at the feedback, and are going to try something new. New name: “Second Sunday Salon” Carried.
Motion by Alison: Also move that we spring for some munchies, e.g. $25 worth of food per meeting. Carried.
ANITA will start picking up this amount of food.
Discussion: what is going on? We don't know, but whatever it is, the response seems very very out of proportion and should be kept confidential in any case, not “Suspended pending an investigation” which implies that Kate has done something terrible. The controversy will almost certainly cause major impacts to the Youth Project.
ALISON will draft a letter outlining our position on this unfortunate event.
DAN will send a personal note to Kate
Discussion: Dan not as co chair.
Can there be two co-chairs? Yes.
ANITA will ask Sara if we can run the story of their wedding in our newsletter.
NEWSLETTER item: announcements: any announcements you want either in the newsletter or at meetings, let us know. for example - kids or grandkids announcements, graduation, wedding / relationship events.
If someone’s in the hospital and would like to get visited - these latter we’ll announce at meetings, we won’t put them in the newsletter.
