2016-02-11 Meeting

Present: Lynn, Anita, Allison, Dan (notes)

Meeting convened at 7:00pm with some extra paramedics for company.

Lynn had a long talk with Dorrie Palmieri from the Youth Project for a continuation of the NSRAP Youth & Elders program. NSRP is doing three videos involving youth interviewing seniors on February 20th at the Dal SUB or the Library

• Being black in Nova Scotia
• Queer Spaces
• Coming Out

In March they will be editing the videos, and they will be done in April. Maybe we could use that for an April event.

May 21 and 22 is the GSA Conference. They would like us to do one or two workshops. By that time we’ll have been at Charles P Allen High School

Lynn had a meeting with Koulton McDonnell from PRIDE Health: Cybelle has gone to PEI. He’s doing lots of work with trans folk - there are long delays and problems in the trans health care system.

He’d be happy to come in and talk to us about the new PRIDE Health, or the barriers still faced by trans folk.

Topic for Koulton: What are the things that PRIDE Health offers? How can they help the Elderberries? Also we can tell him what we need that we’re not getting.
