Elderberry Organizing Committee Minutes - February 20, 2012

Note : as no Organizing Committee meeting was held in January, this meeting was considered as the January catch-up meeting.

Present : Anita, Nick, Lynn

1. Approval of the minutes of the last meeting as circulated : * Deferred, as not everyone had read them.

2. Programs March to May :

• March : Round table on the Organizing Committee : activities and new membership.
• April : Aine Humble, MSVU : Older LGBT marriages in NS?
• May : Note : Lynn, Dan, and Norval can’t make the March meeting : should we flip March and April?

3. Cookbook : tabled until Dan can attend and report

4. Bank account : Will put to general meeting as required by bank. Anita, Lynn, and Dan to be signing officers. APPROVED BY GENERAL MEETING

5. Reprint of brochure : will ask Dan to circulate an electronic version of the brochure so we can suggest changes. SO REQUESTED

6. NSRAP relations. Ask NSRAP whether they would prefer to appoint a senior member as ex officio member of our committee, since Kirk is not a senior and Lynn is no longer an NSRAP director. QUERY LETTER SENT TO NSRAP.

7. SpencerHouse, at the end of our current booking to June 2012, will be raising the usage fees to $20.00 per hour. Discussion of alternatives. Anita will call Judy Aymar at Northwood re possibility of meeting there. Lynn will accompany Anita to bring up possibility of monthly coffee break at Northwood.

8. Out in Rural Maritimes Conference (Yarmouth) announced. No action required as yet.

9. Cooperation with Halifax Pride: reviewed meeting with Tamara Vivian. Action discussion deferred.

10. Attracting new members to Organizing Committee :

• General discussion of possible new members, roles needing to be filled. No actions decided.
