LGBT Elders Social Committee : Minutes : September 7, 2010

1. Agenda approved

2. Minutes of meeting of August 16, 2010 approved.

3. Program actions :

• October 17 : Duma will talk on wills and inheritance with special reference to issues arising in an LGBT setting.
• November : round-table on Being Single
• December : seasonal party at Sky Lounge. Nick looked into cleanup fee : $50.00. Elders committee would like to raise this ourselves, rather than depend on NSRAP : $2.00 each was suggested. If this does not raise enough, NSRAP will cover the difference.
• 2011 : discussion of possible programs for the new year, but no decisions made.

4. Questionnaire :

Hal will draft a questionnaire aimed at discovering what programs, activities, etc LGBT elders would like to see come out of the Elders group. Draft and means of distribution to be discussed at next Committee meeting.

5. Meeting space offered by Leonard Preyra (part of Women’s Council House). Hal and Lynn to tour and report back.

6. List of friendly churches, and transportation issues : put forward to next meeting.

7. Next meeting : October 3, 1:00 to 4:00 pm, at Lynn’s
