Mar '20: Selling the Norval Morrisseau Art Box, Lithos & Book that Norval and I bought many years ago.
Feb '20: 1940s? Cocktail Recipe Wheel published by New Progress Printing, Toronto. You move the pointer to display a tiny recipe for about fifty drinks. I would guess that it's from the 1940s and was a promotional piece to show off the precision and versatility of that print shop; it's just 6" across; the recipe titles are in 5-point, and the rest of the text is in four-point. The phone number is the WAlnut exchange - the Annex. That style of phone numbers disappeared in 1951. The detail is so fine that I scanned it at 300dpi. Here it is showing the recipe for a Clover Club: 1½oz gin, a drop of grenadine, white of an egg, ½oz lemon juice, and ½tsp sugar
Jan '20: Goodbye Paul Brunelle, genius graphic designer Here are a couple of his typically funky party invitations. The one is scanned at 300dpi because the print is so tiny. It folds up into a 3½x3½ card.

May '19: Hummingbird & Forest Fire.Print by Joshua Mangeshig Pawis-Steckley: I saw this hanging from a string at Ink Storm, the screen printing collective. There's a story told by indigenous people on the coasts of Turtle Island, that I first heard from Tuma Young 20? 30? years ago: There's a forest fire and all of the animals are running away. Rabbit is running away, Fox is running away, Porcupine, Deer and Moose are running away from the fire. Bear is running too but he sees Hummingbird flying towards the fire with one drop of water in his beak. "Hummingbird," he says, "this is crazy! You can't put out the fire with one drop of water! What are you doing?" Hummingbird says, "I'm doing what I can."

March 29: Slide show for a memorial to Gabe's close friend Devon Ross, who died by suicide March 9, age 37. Devon and Gabe had the same birthday too.
