In February '98 I was at a networking conference in Albuquerque. One night I had a long, detailled, and disturbingly vivid dream about Van, not one of the details of which are appropriate for a family forum, and the next night, I went to some sort of gay venue and met an identical twin of Van's - doppleganger, in looks, build, hair, accent, and mannerisms, a tall-building window-washer by trade - and he was wildly keen to do all the aforementioned unmentionable things. I was more than a little freaked out by the whole prescient experience.
I mentioned the incident to a local the next day, and he expressed surprise at my surprise. "This is Albuquerque," he said, "Magical things happen all the time."
I also wrote to Prettyboy the next day, and he had a totally different view: Dear God in heaven. You know, there are medications you can take to curb this kind of behavior.
