I'm still in Halifax, network manager for LandlordIT - we do the whole ISP / Hosting / Colo / Wireless / Fibre etc thing and we launch local phone service in the not too distant future. The thing that amazes me most is the more the internet changes, the more it stays _exactly_ the same. "Hi, I'm using outlook explorer, and when I check my email it doesn't work anymore, I haven't changed anything, but my 13 year old son was in my office last week and my computer's running slower than molasses ever since then. WHY IS YOUR SERVICE DOWN???" However, I must admit, nobody from Cleveland NS has visited the office driving a VW microbus and then went on to introduce themselves while explaining how their child had just thrown up on them. Those of you who remember that incident will have NSTN employee numbers under 20 ...

We were such an eclectic bunch and everyone added their own distinctive mark to NSTN. What I enjoyed about Moose so much was his unabashed enthusiasm. As a self-confessed geek, I always enjoyed hearing Moose yell out from his cubicle when discovered some neat application on the 'net. We shared a passion for anything having to do with technology. I also remember having a beer in the office one Friday afternoon with several people including Moose and discussing techie matters. I recalled working with punch cards for my thesis and Moose, without really thinking about what he was saying, blurting out that he had seen some punch cards in a museum. As soon as the words were out of his mouth he looked at me and realized that he had just called me old. The blush that followed was memorable.
