Chair's Report

The science fair project I suggested in 2005:

$500 bursary for best solar science fair project in HRM schools.

There has been great positive response from everyone I've spoken with, and even greater game of phone tag. Everyone I talk to at HRSB loves the idea but each forward me to another administrator. Once the red tape is all cut it should go over well. At that point I suggest that we make it an annual occurence that way we won't have to engage in the same amount of phone tag again.

2006 plans:

Solar primer lecture series in all provincial schools, community colleges and universities.

I am proposing that we partner with other interested NGO's in an educational outreach program to influence future of generations of potential homeowners, builders, tradespeople, designers and architects before they develop any of the preconceptions that many of the general public now hold about the viablity (or perceived inviability) of renewable technologies.
