Presentation Of Reports

Chair's report

It has been a quiet year at Solar Nova Scotia, with most of the efforts focused on continuing projects. Over the last year we have continued to maintain a presence at the fall and spring home shows. We have also offered three successful home tours. The next home show will be the coming weekend and the next home tour will be held on April 17th.

The solar courses have seen dramatic increases in enrollment and in the coming year Don will be offering courses in PEI and New Brunswick. The increase in interest in Solar, has also been reflected in the sale of manuals, which continue to sell out at both Plovers and the Book Room.

The two main project from this year have been the re-vamping of the Solar NS web page, and the building of a new membership base. The new webpage has been online for the past couple of months and the new database is now fully operational, which should allow us to keep better tabs on our members.

We thank everyone for their support and hope to push forward with new project in the coming year.

Membership chair's report

By Susan Bernier

We now have 143 members according to our member report database. Dan (the secretary) and I are working on the system and it is improving all the time. Don (the treasurer) and I have been working out a way for us to each get the info we need. We had Don doing most of the work at one point and that didn't seem fair to me and so I asked to revise it. The sending out of the membership notices went well and we learned a few things along the way.
